Monkeys are fun, intelligent little creatures. When you’re working with preschoolers, so many topics can be full of fun and wonder. That in mind, it can be really neat to do deep dives into topics of interest for them, topics like zoo animals, or, more specifically, monkeys 🙂 Here are some fun facts about monkeys that would be entertaining to share with your preschool and kindergarten aged children:

With all of that said, I wanted to pull together some monkey crafts for preschoolers and young children that you could do alongside your littles as you learn about fun topics like monkeys. Below, you will find some handprint monkey crafts, monkeys made out of paper plates, monkeys made out of pipe cleaners, monkey puppets, a sock monkey craft, and both simple craft ideas along with crafts that could help your littles with their fine motor skills 🙂
Here are 30+ monkey crafts and activities for preschoolers that would be fun for a rainy day!
Here’s a fun monkey craft for little hands. If you’ve been around for even a little bit of time, you probably know that I love handprint crafts. I hope that you will try this cute idea out 🙂
If you’ve got some construction paper, brown paint, a black marker, and a paper plate on hand then you can likely put together this monkey craft and have a lot of fun with your littles.
Here’s a diy paper bag monkey craft that would be fun with younger children. It may not be a keepsake, but it could provide some great fun and quality time as you put it together. Maybe you could even challenge your kids to put together their own little play with their very own puppet 🙂
Here’s another one of the super cute handprint monkey crafts! This cute idea also brings in the googly eyes which is fun 🙂

Here’s an easy monkey craft for those of you who like to work with glue and felt 🙂 This
All you need for this craft is white paper, twine, brown paint, and maybe a brown marker. Honestly, you could even draw the rope, too, if you wanted to 🙂
Bring in the yellow and brown pipe cleaner and google eyes for this monkey craft. This cute idea is great for the whole family since both little children and older kids can each make their own monkey!
This one is a great activity for little kids who have a good imagination. All you need is a printer and some popsicle sticks, and, once again, an imagination 😉
Here’s another popsicle stick puppet activity 🙂 The fun thing about this craft is that it also brings in an opportunity for your kids to practice their fine motor skills and counting/matching skills.
Though this monkey activity may not be super cute (with regards to the aesthetic), it is such a great, simple way to help your littles exercise their fine motor skills. Bring out the barrel of monkeys and a clothes pin made to look like an alligator and maybe even have your older kids help the younger ones bring the “Five Little Monkeys” poem to life.
Here’s a fun way to use up the cute little K cups that those of us who may have a Keurig throw away on a regular basis 🙂
