Happy new year, my friend!
“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written.” —Melody Beattie (link HERE)
I hope that you all had a very lovely holiday season. New Years is honestly one of my very favorite holidays. It reminds me that God has filled my life with new beginnings, new opportunities to learn and grow, new chances to do right and bring Him honor and glory. I mean, just think of it, He gave us New Years, new months, new weeks, and even new days. Each of these markings of time provide us with new opportunities to start fresh. As that quote above says, the New Years is “like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written” (link HERE). As I ponder this past year, I am reminded that there is so much to be thankful for and so much to learn. I want to make much of my Jesus in 2023. He is so worthy of all I am and all I have.
As this new year unfolds, I’ve decided to take a different approach to this little blog. Over the past couple of years, I have focused mainly on providing information to help you with your homeschooling journey. Moving forward, I will be doing my best to focus more on providing you with resources that can help you with your homeschooling and daily life, overall. These resources will mainly be printables of some form that I will publish as I create 🙂
At the end of October, I opened my Etsy shop called My Happy Printable Shop, and it is basically an extension of this blog. Currently, I have been publishing printables that correspond with each holiday that has passed. I have printables for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, so far. There are also some really cute seasonal scavenger hunts, a lovely quarterly goal printable, and an alphabet workbook filled with fun little ABC activity pages. Though I do not want to limit myself to holiday printables, with each new holiday that passes this year, I am planning to create fun and educational printables that will be supplemental to your festivities. In the future, I may be listing them on Teachers Pay Teachers, as well, but for now, I will focus on providing the printables here and on Etsy.
For Christmas, I put together an activity book with 37 pages of games and coloring pages. This activity book has word games including a word scramble along with the free printable word game in this post, but it also has mazes, bingo, a “Would You Rather?” page, and many different coloring pages for children of all ages. Here is a link to this listing in my Etsy shop where you can purchase it for $6.97:
My Happy Christmas Activity Book
With all of that said, I wanted to provide you with this Christmas word game printable that I created for this Christmas activity book as a way to show you what I’ve been working on. This Christmas word game is going to be a free printable game. Normally, I put together bundles of printables to sell (like the one pictured above), but I will likely be giving away pieces of those bundles for you to use and enjoy 🙂 This holiday game is an instant download that you can enjoy for personal use as you spend quality time with your family. I know that the Christmas season has already passed, but I wanted to have this printable available to you for next year, as well!
The directions for this printable Christmas game are simple. All you need to do is look at the letters in the words “Merry Christmas” and see how many other words you can create with those letters. It is a fun activity for older kids and younger children since the words that they create with the letters can be complex or simple. For instance, young children will likely know the words “a” and “I” or even “yes” while older children will be able to find harder words like “master” or “stream.” Feel free to look for Christmas words in this fun puzzle game or simply find any words, even if those words are not Christmas-related words. This word find game is a great addition to a Christmas party or even for those slower moments on Christmas Eve or Christmas day.
Finding free printables can be hard, but they are a great way to make some memories through the winter holidays when everyone is inside more.
To download this PDF file, simply click on the picture at the bottom of this post (it is a download link), make sure your printer settings are set to print correctly, and click print. It shouldn’t matter what web browser you are using, but if you have trouble, please let me know. If you do not have access to a printer, you can certainly find a local print shop and simply bring the PDF file there and have them print it. There is also no limit to how many copies you can print. Feel free to print as many copies as you would like at no additional cost to you. That said, this printable is for personal use only. Please don’t sell or share it without attributing it to this blog or my printable shop. Thank you for understanding!
There you have it 🙂 This printable puzzle is the first printable of many that I will be providing this year. Though it does take a decent amount of time to create the printables, I am planning to chisel away at all my ideas one little bit at a time as I try to provide you with the resources you need in your homeschooling and daily life. I have had so much fun creating these printables and am so excited to continue the pursuit of my creative expressions.
The next holiday on my radar is Valentine’s Day, and I am already working on printables that I think will be the perfect addition to your festive season. Valentine’s Day is actually one of my favorite holidays, as well, since it provides us with a sweet opportunity to show those we care about just how much we love them. Though I know that romantic love between It can be lots of fun for the whole family, as well. I cannot wait to share with you all the fun ways you can make Valentine’s Day special for you and your kids. The opportunities are many 🙂
I sincerely hope that you will enjoy my new direction with this blog, that these printables will help you build holiday memories while having so much fun with your family. I will be working hard to provide you with the resources and support you need in this new year! Thank you for following along. Your presence and support mean so much to me. With that, I wish you all the best in this new year! Here’s to new beginnings and a new chapter. May we bring honor and glory to the Lord through our lives this coming year!
