Are you ready for spring? As homeschoolers, it can be easy to look forward to the days when the kids can play outside freely, again. I’m excited about the evenings being longer and the sunlight lasting just a few more hours at the end of the day 🙂 Though we are technically still in the winter months, it is beginning to feel a little more like spring, and the official season is just around the corner. With that in mind, my next several posts will be themed around spring fun and activities.
Today, we will be pulling together 30+ spring bucket list ideas for you and your kids 🙂
Outside activities.
- climb a tree
- have a picnic
- pick a wildflower bouquet
- find a bird’s nest
- pick berries
- fly a kite
- go fishing
- do school outside
- start a garden
- play in the rain
- watch the sunrise
- catch lightning bugs
- have a side walk chalk competition
- go star-gazing at night
- spot a rainbow
Inside activities.
- build a bird feeder
- bake a pie with seasonal fruit
- read a chapter book together about spring or gardening
- memorize a poem about spring
- paint rocks
- buy a caterpillar kit and watch butterflies grow
- make spring-themed Playdough
- do a reading challenge
- have a tea party
- decorate spring-themed cookies
Excursions.
- go to a baseball game
- spend the day at a creek or river
- go fishing
- go for an evening walk
- take a family bike ride
- play mini golf
- visit a farm
- shop at a farmer’s market
- go to a park and feed ducks
- go kayaking or canoeing
