Hello, friend! I’m Hannah — and I’m so glad you’re here 🙂

If you’re standing at the starting line of homeschooling and feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or even a little scared… I want you to know: you’re not alone.

It’s my absolute joy and honor to walk with you through this journey—to be that reassuring voice in the middle of all the noise, helping you take the next step with confidence.

Let me tell you a little about me.

I was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school by my amazing mom, who taught me alongside my five younger brothers (yes—five!). Our home was full of books, learning, music, and a whole lot of time outside and life along the way. But there’s more to our story than just school at a desk…

My family is from Canada, and for close to five years, I traveled with my family around the country as a Bluegrass Gospel band. We sang in churches, festivals, small-town events, and even just in public spaces on the streets. Life on the road was its own kind of education—and homeschooling is a big part of what made it possible. It shaped so much of who I am today.

Me and My Brothers

Now, as a mom myself to a sweet little boy, I’ve found that the world of homeschooling looks quite different than it did when I was growing up. Back then, I believe things felt simpler—fewer choices, fewer voices, and maybe even a bit less pressure.

But today? One quick search for “how to homeschool” and you’re hit with so much information.

  • Should you follow the Charlotte Mason method or go Montessori?
  • What even is unschooling?
  • Abeka or Masterbooks? Digital or hands-on?
  • Should you start with a schedule or follow your child’s lead?

And suddenly the joy and excitement can start to feel like stress and overload.

That’s exactly why I created My Happy Homeschooling.

This space is for moms like you—moms who are curious, maybe even excited, but also feeling the pressure to “get it right.” You don’t need someone to hand you a one-size-fits-all plan. You need clarity and direction, and someone to help you cut through the noise and start simply.

My Husband and Me

Because here’s the secret no one tells you:
There’s no one “right” way to homeschool.
There’s only the way that works best for you and your family.

My goal is to help you:

  • Build confidence in your role as a homeschool parent
  • Understand the different methods and how to choose what fits you and your family best
  • Create a life-giving rhythm that works with you
  • Let go of perfection and lean into peace, purpose, and joy

Whether you’re brand new and just trying to understand what’s out there, or you’ve dabbled in homeschool resources but still feel unsure—I’m here to help you move forward with clarity and grace.

So take a deep breath. You don’t have to figure everything out today.
You’re not behind. You’re not alone.
And you can create a homeschool you truly love.

Welcome to My Happy Homeschooling—I’m so glad you’re here.

“Now you are deep in what seems to me a peculiarly selfless service. The spiritual training of children must be that You work for the years you will not see. You work for the Invisible all the time, but you work for the Eternal. So it is all worthwhile.” – Amy Carmichael (link here)
