In the early years of homeschooling, I have known some families to choose not to have a full curriculum, but rather to simply piecework together resources (some free and some not) that will help prepare their littles for the grades ahead. With that in mind, even if you have a curriculum that you are using, it can be fun to pull together some extracurricular resources like educational coloring books or even printable worksheets.

For this post, I’ve done my best to pull together specifically free kindergarten worksheets (some of these worksheets may also be helpful for preschool aged children). Many of these printables will help your young mathematician learn and/or practice basic concepts of addition without running into large numbers. These worksheets can all be printed when you click through the links in this post 🙂

Without further adieu, here are the free worksheets.

This worksheet is a little more difficult in that it introduces the vertical addition problems. Even though they are still single-digit numbers, it may prove to be a little more challenging for young learners, especially since only numbers are shown rather than numbers with some kind of visual aid to help along the way. That said, this worksheet can still be helpful if you feel like the simpler ones are starting to be too easy:)
