Hello, friends!
Hope you are all having a good week so far 🙂 Today’s post is a fun one. I love seasonal cooking and homemaking, and I thought it’d be fun to pull together some kid-friendly, delicious desserts for 4th of July. There is something special about making sweet treats for the different holidays and occasions. Nothing says Thanksgiving like a pumpkin pie, and nothing quite says a birthday like a birthday cake. In the same way, there are some special traditions we can pull together that will help our families associate a season with a special dish. To me, watermelon says summer, and pumpkin says fall. With that in mind, red, white, and blue says July 4th, and this post is going to compile over twenty-five 4th of July desserts that are kid-friendly, fun, and easy recipes!
Without further adieu, here are some inspiring 4th of July desserts that I hope you will make over the course of the coming months 🙂

I’ve tried to find desserts that incorporate natural elements as “food coloring” to bring in those patriotic colors. With that in mind, these popsicles can use fresh blueberries, fresh strawberries (or raspberries), and yoghurt for the colorful parts. These would be the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day.

I love how easy these ice cream sandwiches are, and who doesn’t love a simple ice cream sandwich as a classic summer dessert? All you need to do is keep some ice cream sandwiches on hand along with some red white and blue sprinkles, and you have an easy 4th of July dessert always on hand for that quick, maybe unplanned July party.

There are many different variations of these fruit pizzas or fruit cookies that make them an easy patriotic dessert. All you really need is some element of white, blueberries, and strawberries, and you have several 4th of July desserts that can be pulled together in a short amount of time.

Here’s another spin on the fresh berries and cake idea 🙂

These mini pies may be the most time-consuming dessert in this compilation. They sure are beautiful, though!

This dessert used raspberries instead of strawberries which is a great idea if you are looking to switch it up with your 4th of July desserts 🙂 You could definitely make homemade whipped cream to take this summer treat to the next level.

I’m not gluten-free, but this lovely American Flag Cake was simply too beautiful to not share 🙂 I love the white icing she included between the fruits, and I thought it was so neat that she used raspberries and strawberries in the same dessert!

I love the “firework” idea of this fun cookie cake. These easy m&m cookie bars would be great for the summer holidays. Another great idea that is brought up with this dessert is keeping the red, white, and blue m&m’s on hand in July to easily turn a normal recipe into a patriotic dessert by simply subbing in the patriotic candies instead of chocolate chips or regular m&m’s.
Here’s a 4th of July cake. This dessert may be a little less “kid-friendly,” but I still think the kids would like it 🙂 It’s pretty simple since it uses canned pie filling which I’m sure you could make yourself if you wanted a more natural dessert. Though it doesn’t have cream cheese frosting, specifically, it has cream cheese mixture between the layers of pie filling and graham cracker crumbs. Yum!

Here’s yet another spin on the shortbread, strawberries, and blueberries dessert. It’s considered one of the “no bake desserts” since you could totally make your own angel food cake or even buy it store bought.

Yummmm. I would love it if someone made these for me 😉 I love any kind of sweet rolls or cinnamon rolls, and the sprinkles on these really give it a fun twist.

Here’s another red white and blue dessert idea that includes fresh fruit. The star shaped watermelon for these kabobs are so fun. If I were to make these, I would use all the scraps from the rest of the watermelon to make a fruit salad 🙂 Cold watermelon is also a great way to beat the summer heat.

I like that these strawberries use white chocolate as the main color and then add the sprinkles to spruce it up. That way, you aren’t using as much food coloring for this dessert.

Here’s one for the chocolate lovers. These brownies are so fun! I love that they can be more “homemade” and yet still have that patriotic flare.

Here’s another of the brownie 4th of July desserts that could likely be made with a lot of the ingredients you may already have around your home. You could even cut the brownies into star shapes for an added patriotic touch. These kabobs are a great way to show-case the sweet fresh fruits, and they’d go great at a July BBQ!

These cookies look so simple and pretty! Crinkle cookies are fun.

Poke cakes are usually a crowd-pleaser, and they’re usually a pretty easy dessert, too, which makes it a win win. Just keep some cool whip, jello, white cake mix, and your other go-to baking ingredients (like eggs, oil, etc.) on hand for this one. It’s the jello mix that brings in that vibrant red and blue in this July recipe.

Though these trifles are technically “cheesecake,” you could just as easily make them parfaits with yogurt for a fun 4th of July breakfast for your kids. All you’d need is granola, fruit, and yogurt, and you’re set!
The next few ideas are all charcuterie boards or snack boards that could be changed and adapted to fit your needs and the foods you may have already collected. I love a good charcuterie board compilation, as you probably know 😉

This charcuterie board definitely doesn’t avoid the food coloring, but it definitely looks fun! The nice thing about this charcuterie board, too, is that it uses all store-bought things which is nice and easy for a quick get-together with friends.

This charcuterie board is a little more intricate since there are a few things that would require a little bit of forethought. It’s still super fun though 🙂

I would call this one more of a “snack board” since it doesn’t have a whole lot to it, but sometimes simple is better, and I love the idea of simply arranging things in stripes and including the red, white, and blue to make it more seasonal.

These cookies basically just add the before-mentioned red, white, and blue m&m’s to make them fit the 4th of July vibe, but I think they are still so fun and worth including. They also look delicious!

Who doesn’t love a good Rice Krispie treat? You could easily make these with white chocolate as the base and then just sprinkle on the patriotic sprinkles if you wanted to use less food dye.

This cheeseball would be a fun thing to add to a charcuterie board, or it would be good even just one its own! Just be sure to have some delicious options for things to dip in it.

As I mentioned before, you could definitely use white chocolate as the base for these dipped Oreos and then add fun sprinkles to make them more patriotic. Either way, these dipped Oreos would be a great addition to your holiday season.

Here’s a fun snack mix that you could definitely adapt to your needs based on what you have or snack foods that your kids like. For instance, if your kids like Nilla wafers better than pretzels, you could definitely sub those in instead!

I saw a couple of different variations of this snack mix. Some people did regular muddy buddies and simply added in some red, white, and blue candies, while this one actually dyed the chocolate used to coat the Chex mix in the first place. It definitely looks festive!

I hope that these desserts have been inspiring to you! I had fun pulling the post together. There are so many creative people out there coming up with such great ideas. As a side-note, all of these easy Fourth of July dessert recipes would also be great for Memorial Day, as well. The next several posts I’m putting out will be 4th of July themed which will be fun!
