Can you believe we are in the month of May already? How the months are just flying by! As I write this post, I have been enjoying this lovely spring day here in Alabama. The weather is so beautiful today with sunshine and a cool breeze. I am loving it!

Today, we are going to be taking a look at printable worksheets that focus mainly on the letter “d.” Let me just say that I have had such a fun time putting together these printables and posts that focus on traceable letters. Each of these free printables will give your younger children practice their fine motor skills, their letter recognition, and even their proper letter formation. I would say that these print designs will work for both kindergarten students and pre-k students. I have put together some ways to practice their uppercase letters along with their lowercase letters. As you go through each of my posts, I would recommend buying a three-ring binder to keep all of your practice sheets in. With all of that said, it may also be helpful to go ahead and laminate the pages so that you can use them over and over again with a dry erase marker!

The four different pages all have different difficulty levels. The first page is simply the uppercase letter “D” combined with the lowercase letter “d” made with dotted lines that your child can trace. The second page has only traceable uppercase D’s and the lowercase letter d’s. Next, the third page has the uppercase letter d with two lines to copy down the letter without as much guidance and two more lines for the lowercase letter d. Lastly, the final page has the words “dog,” “dandelion,” “desk,” and “dolphin” with dotted lines that young children can use to trace. On that page, there are only lowercase letters in the words, and I think it can be a great way to introduce other small letters and letter sounds.
