Hello, everyone!

In Summer
Paul Laurence Dunbar (link HERE)

Oh, summer has clothed the earth
In a cloak from the loom of the sun!
And a mantle, too, of the skies' soft blue,
And a belt where the rivers run.

And now for the kiss of the wind,
And the touch of the air's soft hands,
With the rest from strife and the heat of life,
With the freedom of lakes and lands.

I envy the farmer's boy
Who sings as he follows the plow;
While the shining green of the young blades lean
To the breezes that cool his brow.

He sings to the dewy morn,
No thought of another's ear;
But the song he sings is a chant for kings
And the whole wide world to hear.

He sings of the joys of life,
Of the pleasures of work and rest,
From an o'erfull heart, without aim or art;
'T is a song of the merriest.

O ye who toil in the town,
And ye who moil in the mart,
Hear the artless song, and your faith made strong
Shall renew your joy of heart.

Oh, poor were the worth of the world
If never a song were heard,—
If the sting of grief had no relief,
And never a heart were stirred.

So, long as the streams run down,
And as long as the robins trill,
Let us taunt old Care with a merry air,
And sing in the face of ill.

Happy Monday 🙂 And, here, we begin yet another week. We had a lovely weekend. These days, I have been trying to get most of my cleaning done on Saturdays so that I can really start out my week with a fresh slate. I have been considering it my “weekly reset” since it really sets me up for success on Mondays. Also, we booked our flights to Canada at the very end of this month which is so exciting. I have not been back there in several years and am so very excited to see all my extended family and be back in beautiful British Columbia. With all of that said, I am here today to bring you a new letter for the free printable worksheets series we have been doing for tracing. As I have said before, I really hope that these free letter r worksheets will help your younger kids with their fine motor skills, their proper letter formation skills, and even their writing skills as they increase their alphabet knowledge.

Without further adieu, here are the free letter R tracing worksheets 🙂 You can either click each of these download links and print your worksheets, or you can click the pictures of the individual worksheets below for your free download.

The four different pages all have different difficulty levels. The first page is simply the uppercase letter “R” combined with the lowercase letter “r” made with dotted lines that your child can trace. The second page has only traceable uppercase R’s and the lowercase letter r’s. Next, the third page has the uppercase letter R with two lines to copy down the letter without as much guidance and two more lines for the lowercase r. Lastly, the final page has letter r words including the words “ruby,” “rabbit,” “rocket,” and “rug” with dotted lines that young children can use to trace. On that page, there are only lowercase letters in the words, and I think it can be a great way to introduce other small letters and letter sounds.

All four of these letter r worksheet pages are in a pdf format and are completely free to you! I sincerely hope they are helpful to you and your littles 🙂

There you have it! I hope that each of these free printables will be a blessing to you whether you are using them for personal use with your own children or in a more homeschool coop or classroom setting with other children. These alphabet tracing worksheets have been so fun to make and the series is going by faster than I may have thought it would. For young children, practicing letter recognition and basic writing skills is so important, and I believe these printable activities will be a fun way to get in some extra practice through this summer season. I hope you will enjoy these letter r worksheet printables!

Moving forward, I have been brainstorming to see what “series” I can do next (I’m hoping to wrap this one up before school starts back!). There are a lot of different routes we could go. I have actually thought about doing a “five letter words that start with ____” for each letter of the alphabet. Would that be helpful? Or maybe we could do another worksheet series. Or just go back to doing random topics for each post with nothing necessarily that ties them together? Please let me know in the comments below if you know what would be helpful for you and your littles!

If you are looking for more printable pages that help with learning alphabet letters, I did want to include a link here to my Etsy shop where you can find an entire activity pack filled with alphabet worksheets that includes pages for every letter of the alphabet to help your young learners. I hope it proves to be helpful to you!

Did you decide to use any of these printable letter r worksheets?

Would it be helpful if I made more kids worksheets like these for each of the other letters of the alphabet?

Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time
